Late Shri. K. H. Patilji, a prominent figure in the Cooperative movement, established the organization. He was widely recognized as "Sahakari Rangada Bheeshma" and received the prestigious Asia Level Best Promoter of cooperative Movement award. In addition to his role as Former KPCC Chairman, he served the Government of Karnataka as Minister of Revenue and Panchayat Raj.

Chairman's Message
In 1980, the Rural Technical Education (RTE) Society was established in Hulkoti with the blessings of Sri Sri Sri Thiruchi Mahaswamiji of the Kailash Asharam, Bangalore. Hulkoti holds a special place as a pioneer in the cooperative sector and is particularly renowned for its Textile Mills. Through its two notable institutions, the Rural Polytechnic, Hulkoti, and the Rural Engineering College, the society has brought technical education within reach of rural communities. As a result, the alumni of these institutes have achieved significant positions worldwide, while cherishing the wonderful memories of their time spent in the institute.
