The Rural Engineering College, Hulkoti actively participated in the observance of National Road Safety Month, with the primary goal of increasing awareness among the general public regarding the perils associated with careless and irresponsible driving. According to the latest Global Status Report on Road Safety, there has been a positive trend, showcasing a 5% decrease in the annual number of road traffic fatalities in India, currently standing at 1.19 million per year. This event serves as a crucial platform to educate individuals about the inherent risks linked to reckless or irresponsible driving behaviors.
Dr. V M Patil, the Principal, presided over the event, providing valuable insights into road accidents. Mr. Puneetgouda R Patil, the NSS coordinator, skillfully hosted the proceedings, and the occasion was honored by the presence of all the Heads of Departments (HODs) and students.
On this significant day, Mr. Manjunath Shirale, RTO, Gadag, along with Mr. Balchandra Togalbhavi, a senior brake inspector, and Mr. Dayanand, the office superintendent, gathered to enlighten students about the significance of National Road Safety Month. Their combined efforts aimed to impart essential knowledge and foster a sense of responsibility among individuals, contributing to the broader goal of promoting road safety in our community.
