The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been actively involved in research and innovation initiatives. Notably, it received a grant of Rs. 20 Lakhs from the Vision Group on Science and Technology (VGST) for the development of infrastructure in the Material Testing Laboratory.
This funding was used judiciously to procure laboratory equipment aligned with VTU syllabus requirements and to establish testing facilities for research in the domain of Tribology of metals and composites under both dry and lubricated conditions.
The Material Testing Laboratory not only aids research scholars within the institution but also extends its benefits to neighboring institutions, fostering research in the areas of Tribology, Mechanical Engineering, and Materials studies.
Department Of Computer Science Engineering
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has also been actively involved in research and innovation efforts. The institution has established an e-consortium with Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, facilitating online access to esteemed scientific journals from publishers including Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, Springer, IEEE-Xplorer, and IETE. This is beneficial for research and academic activities.
In addition to research, the department has been designated as a research center by Visvesvaraya. Technological University, commencing from the academic year 2020-21, which indicates a commitment to advanced research in the field.
