COMMITTEES AND CELLS

This committee is essential with respect to enhance the academic activities of the college.  The committee involving the Heads of all the Departments aims at filling curricular gaps between the institute and industry that meets the industry requirements and at the same time ensures teaching is done in a very effective way.

Responsibilities: 

• Frame the college academic calendar for undergraduate courses across all departments.
• Make sure curriculum activities follow the academic calendar.
• Provide facilities to improve the teaching-learning process.

This is an integral committee of the institute that deals with the admission of the students into the various undergraduate programs.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of college brochures which includes all facilities of the college.
• Promotion activities for admissions.
• Interacting with the aspirants and their parents/guardians.

Verification of documents during admissions and guide them to complete admission formalities

Alumnus of an educational institute contributes a lot to the growth of the organization. Besides being a major stakeholder of the institute, they give guidance and feedback to their juniors with respect to their career opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring and facilitating the continual bonding of our alumni is one of the main objectives of the committee. It brings together a wealth of talented and capable professionals who share their expertise and experience, and brainstorm on the prospective avenues.
• To strengthen the cooperation and coordination with industries.
• To enhance Placement Opportunities for juniors.

This committee educates students on Anti-ragging. In the event of any ragging occurring, the committee conducts an enquiry and reports its findings to the Principal.

Responsibilities:

• To publicize to all students and prevalent directives and the actions that can be taken against those indulging in ragging .
• To consider the complaints received from the students and conduct enquiry and submit report to the Principal.

This committee educates students on Anti-Sexual Harassment. In case of any harassment, the committee conducts an enquiry and reports its findings to the Principal. Frequent awareness is given to the students, not to indulge in anti-sexual harassment.

Responsibilities:

• To publicize to all students and prevalent directives and the actions that can be taken against those indulging in h
• To evaluate the complaints received, conduct enquiry and submit report to the Principal.
• Conduct awareness against harassment and orient the students on the same.

This committee educates students on Discipline. In the event of any Indiscipline activity occurring, the committee conducts an enquiry and reports its findings to the Principal.

Responsibilities:

• To educate the students the importance of being discipline.
• To consider the complaints received in case of any indiscipline activity, conduct enquiry and submit report to the Principal.
• To take all necessary measures for prevention of indiscipline activity inside the Campus and Hostels.

To maintain an eco- friendly campus. To conserve electricity in the college campus buildings and ensure that there is no wastage of power, thus saving it for the future.

Responsibilities:

• To take necessary measures to conserve energy.
• To display the boards explaining the importance of energy conservation.
• To conduct energy audit periodically.
• To keep a track on energy conservation of the institute.

This committee monitors the conduction of examinations in the college. Starting from the notification of the exam till the declaration of the results, the committee manages all the activities in co-ordination with the heads of the departments ensuring smooth running of the entire process.

Responsibilities:

• To follow the circulars of the University related to the examinations.
• Ensure all students register for the university examinations.
• Conduction of University exams y identifying and allocating exam halls.
• Take necessary measures for the smooth conduct of exams.

Students are encouraged to take part in sports and cultural events in college and other colleges and show their talents. Identification and extraction of talents of students.

Responsibilities:

• To motivate students to take part in sports and cultural activities.
• To provide required equipments, arrangements for sports and cultural activities.
• To conduct sports and cultural events in the college.
• To identify the students who are good at sports and cultural activities and encourage them to participate in inter-college events/University events.

To examine and scrutinize the annual budget of the institute and submit financial proposals to the Board of Management. To consider all proposals for new expenditure and submit same to the Board of Management.

Responsibilities:

• To collect the departmental budgets and consolidate the institutional budget.
• After obtaining approval from the board of Management, communicating the approved budget to all core and functional departments.
• Funds for procurement of equipment and other necessary accessories.
• Disbursing of salaries and remuneration.

The objective of the Commitee is to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the staff and students in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the institute. Upholding the dignity of the College by ensuring strife free atmosphere in the College through promoting cordial relationship.

Responsibilities:

• All the grievances of the staff and students which could not be settled in the routine process should be referred to this committee.
• Committee reports the issues to the Principal.
• Introduces a reasonable and reliable solution for grievances of various issues received from staff/Students.
• Ensures that the grievances are resolved on time impartially and confidentially.

This committee looks into the requirement of the students (boys, girls) staying in the hostel.  The committee looks into the food and accommodation in the hostel.

Responsibilities:

• Provide safety for the students.
• To make arrangements for students staying in the hostel
• To allot rooms for students.
• To operate hostel mess with all necessary facilities

This committee is very essential for the undergraduate students, aspiring to get placed in companies as well as to start companies of their own. Internships are given to the students in their pre-final year and final year respectively, preparing them for the forthcoming campus interviews.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing and maintaining students’ data such as University results, communication details, etc.
• Identifying Alumni Mentors and coordinating with them to get internship opportunities to our students.
• Educate students, the importance of Internship.

The Library Committee headed by the Principal ensures all the requirements of current schemes are fulfilled. The Library Committee ensures all these requirements pertaining to books, E-learning, News Papers, Magazines, and Digital Library is fulfilled.

Responsibilities:

• Receive the requirements of the books from all the departments and forwarding the same to the principal to purchase books.
• Preparation of Budget which includes procuring of books, journals and magazines.
• Purchase of Books, journals, magazines, news papers etc.
• To neatly arrange the books as per the streams and provide a unique identification to the books.
• Issue of books to the faculty members and students and Collecting them back.

The committee is aimed at developing student’s personality through community service; NSS is a voluntary association of young people in College for a campus-community linkage. The committee in college aims at molding interested students on the same lines.

Responsibilities:

• To enable the students to understand the community in which they work.
• To develop a sense of social and civic responsibility among themselves.
• To acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.
• To develop capacity to handle emergencies and national disasters.
• To organize Blood Donation Camp periodically.
• To organize Swach-Bharat practice in the college campus periodically.

            The main objective of establishing the Purchase Committee (PC) is to look after the procurement of various equipments and systems that are required to be established in the laboratories in college. As the college is affiliated to VTU Belagavi and it is mandatory to establish all the labs prescribed in the curriculum, the role of PC becomes crucial in procuring the various equipment required to establish and maintain the laboratories.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Purchase Committee.

1. Explore and capitalize on all legally permissible opportunities for cost reduction on purchase of materials.

2. Ensure suppliers adhere strictly to brand or make and test specifications of those materials and equipment received meet specified quality standards and all stated performance criteria.

3. Seek clarification from suppliers/service providers where necessary.
4. To analyze quotations provided by the logistics department, and provide recommendation for approval.

5. To ensure all documentation is accurately completed.
6. The PC should also be assigned a role within the supplier pre-processing process.
7. Establish and maintain good relations with suppliers.
8. Implement buyer rotation plan.

The committee encourages faculties and students to publish technical papers and articles, write textbooks, apply for support for project work, get grants for research, apply for patents, etc. To ensure necessary facilities are provided for carrying out research publication, projects and products.

Responsibilities:

• To identify the thrust areas of research in various disciplines of engineering and from the faculty into various clusters based on their specialization.
• To prepare and submit project proposals to government agencies like KSCST, VGST, AICTE, UGC, DST, IE (I) etc.
• To encourage the staff to attend workshops, national/international conferences of their specialized areas.
• Encourage faculty and students to publish papers in conferences and referred journals.
• Encouraging faculty and students to work on R&D projects.

To promote a culture of respect and equality for female gender, in the campus and to create a conducive counseling environment for female gender to share their problem.

Responsibilities:

• To examine the measures taken by the institute to secure for status, dignity of female gender in all matters.
• To provide safe and comfortable environment for women in the campus.
• Plan, organize and conduct programs concerning women welfare.
• Organize health awareness camp.
• Celebrate national/International days such as women’s day, mother’s day etc.
• Organize awareness talks/workshop for women on different aspects of gender amity.
• Addresses all matters pertaining to women in the workplace.
