The National Science Day was celebrated on the 4th of March 2024 at the seminar hall REC Hulkoti. Events like Science Quiz, Essay writing and Poster/Collage were conducted for staff and students along with some entertainment games like Housie Housie, Musical chair & Bombing the city.
The event began with an Invocation song by Miss Shalini Kulkarni , CSE Dept. Mr S S Sadmal coordinator welcomed the august gathering and Mrs Rekha H introduced the Chief Guest. Two important video sessions were screened. One was of video audio message by top Scientists, Researchers, and our own Alumni. The other was a run-up video of the interviews with staff and students of REC focusing on National Science Day and its relevance.
Dr Mohammed Sadiq Sayyed was honored for being awarded his Doctorate in Philosophy (Mathematics). The prize distribution followed and later the Chief Guest Prof M M Naragund ,Principal ,J T College (Rtd) spoke on the life history, struggles and achievements of Sir C V Raman and Dr A P J Abdul Kalam. This was well received by the audience. President Dr V M Patil in his address highlighted the grit and commitment to research of great Indian scientists. They were later honored with mementoes. Dr MD Harlapur chief ,IQAC was also on the Dias. Mrs Shilpa Meti and Mrs Renuka conducted the essay and collage competitions. Miss Aishwarya G anchored the event. The session ended by Dr Shrikrishna Gurlhosur proposing the vote of thanks.
